Proposals

Creating a Proposal

StackBloom Proposals is a block-based proposal builder that helps you create stunning, interactive proposals in minutes. From templates to custom pricing tables, everything you need to impress clients and close deals faster is built right in.

Step 1: Click New Proposal in the dashboard

1

Navigate to the Proposals dashboard from the StackBloom sidebar and click the New Proposal button. Give your proposal a working title — this is your internal reference and won't be visible to the client unless you include it in the document content.

  • Proposals are saved as drafts until you explicitly send them
  • You can have unlimited proposals in progress at the same time
  • Use folders to organize proposals by client, project type, or status

Step 2: Choose a template or start from scratch

2

After clicking New Proposal, you'll be offered the option to start from a template or build from a blank canvas. Templates include pre-designed layouts for common proposal types such as web design, marketing, consulting, and development.

  • Templates are fully editable — change colors, fonts, and content freely
  • Browse templates by industry or proposal type
  • Preview any template before selecting it
  • Your own saved templates appear at the top of the list

Step 3: Add your content blocks

3

Proposals are built from blocks. Click the + Add Block button between sections to insert new content. Each block type is designed to communicate a different part of your proposal.

  • Text — rich text paragraphs with headings and lists
  • Pricing Table — line items with quantities, rates, and totals
  • Image — portfolio pieces, mockups, team photos
  • Testimonials — client quotes and social proof
  • Video — embed a YouTube or Loom introduction video
  • Drag blocks to reorder them at any time

Step 4: Fill in client information

4

Open the Client Info panel on the right sidebar and enter the client's name, company, and email. This information is used to personalize the proposal and pre-fill the To field when you send it.

  • Use merge tags like {{client_name}} to auto-insert client details into the proposal text
  • Client company logo can be displayed alongside yours in the proposal header
  • Save clients to your address book for quick selection in future proposals

Step 5: Preview and finalize before sending

5

Click the Preview button to see exactly how your proposal will look to the client — on both desktop and mobile. Review every section, verify the pricing calculations, and check all links before finalizing.

  • Preview mode shows the client experience, including interactive pricing options
  • Use the mobile preview to ensure it reads well on smartphones
  • Click Edit to return and make changes — you can toggle between views as many times as needed
  • When ready, click Finalize to lock the content before sending

💡 Tip: Use templates for consistent branding across all proposals. Build a master template with your logo, brand colors, standard terms, and a testimonials block, then clone it for every new proposal. This saves time and ensures every client sees the same professional presentation.
