How to Transfer a License

Transfer your StackBloom license to another user. Useful for selling, gifting, or changing ownership.

Transfer Overview

StackBloom allows license transfers for lifetime access products. This means you can sell, gift, or transfer ownership of your license to another user.

What Can Be Transferred

Lifetime Licenses

All one-time purchase products (Forms, PDF Suite, E-Sign, Scheduling, etc.)

All Tiers

Starter, Pro, Business, and Enterprise licenses

Monthly Subscriptions

Monitor, Live Chat, and HealthBloom subscriptions cannot be transferred (cancel instead)

Transfer Process

Prepare Transfer Information

Gather the following information:

  • Your account email (current owner)
  • New owner's email address
  • Product(s) to transfer
  • Reason for transfer (optional)

Submit Transfer Request

Email support@stackbloom.io with subject "License Transfer Request"

Email Template:

Subject: License Transfer Request I would like to transfer my StackBloom license: Current Owner Email: [your-email@example.com] New Owner Email: [new-owner@example.com] Product(s): [Forms Pro, PDF Suite Basic, etc.] Reason: [Selling business / Gift / etc.] I confirm that I understand: - The license will be removed from my account - All data will be transferred to the new owner - This action cannot be undone [Your Name]

Verification

We'll send verification emails to both the current owner and the new owner to confirm the transfer. Both parties must approve within 48 hours.

Transfer Complete

Once both parties approve, the transfer is processed immediately:

  • License removed from old owner's account
  • License added to new owner's account
  • Data optionally transferred (see below)
  • Both parties receive confirmation emails

Data Transfer Options

When transferring a license, you can choose what happens to your data:

📦Option 1: Transfer All Data

Transfer all forms, documents, links, etc. to the new owner's account.

Best for: Selling business, changing ownership

🗑️Option 2: Delete All Data

Delete all data and transfer only the license. New owner starts fresh.

Best for: Gifting, selling unused license

📋Option 3: Export Then Delete

Export your data, delete it, then transfer the license. You keep the data as backup.

Best for: Keeping records, compliance

Important: Data transfers are permanent. Make sure you have backups if needed before confirming the transfer.

Requirements & Limitations

Can I transfer to anyone?

Yes, with these requirements:

  • New owner must have a StackBloom account (or create one)
  • New owner must accept the transfer within 48 hours
  • New owner cannot already own the same product/tier
  • Both parties must verify via email
How long does the transfer take?

Once both parties approve, the transfer is instant. The entire process (including verification) typically takes 1-2 business days.

Is there a transfer fee?

No, license transfers are free. However:

  • You can only transfer each license once per year
  • Frequent transfers may be flagged for review
  • Commercial reselling of licenses is prohibited
Can I cancel a transfer after submitting?

Yes, before both parties approve, you can cancel by emailing support. Once both parties approve and the transfer is processed, it cannot be reversed.

What happens to my support history?

Support history remains with the original account for privacy. The new owner starts with a fresh support record.

Can I transfer part of a bundle?

Yes, you can transfer individual products from a bundle. However, you won't receive a refund for the bundle discount. Each product transfers independently.

Selling Your License

You're allowed to sell your StackBloom license to another user. Here are some tips:

Fair Pricing

Consider the original price, time remaining value, and any tier upgrades when pricing. Most licenses sell for 50-80% of original price.

Written Agreement

Create a simple agreement with the buyer about payment terms, data transfer, and support expectations.

Use Escrow (Optional)

For high-value transfers, consider using an escrow service to hold payment until the transfer is confirmed.

Prohibited: Creating licenses solely for resale, bulk license trading, or operating as a license reseller without authorization.

Troubleshooting

New owner didn't receive verification email?

Check spam folder. If still missing, contact support with the ticket number to resend.

Transfer was approved but license didn't move?

This is rare but can happen. Email support with your confirmation emails and we'll manually process the transfer.

Changed my mind after transfer?

Contact the new owner directly to arrange a reverse transfer. StackBloom cannot force a reverse transfer but can facilitate it if both parties agree.
