Editing PDFs in PDF Suite
StackBloom PDF Suite includes a full-featured PDF editor. You can add text, insert images, annotate pages, and reorganize your document — all without leaving the browser. Every save creates a new version so you can always go back.
Step 1: Open a PDF in the editor
From your PDF Suite dashboard, click on any project to open it. Then click the PDF file you want to edit and select Open in Editor. The editor loads in a full-screen view with the toolbar across the top.
- You can also upload a new PDF directly into the editor
- The editor is browser-based — no plugin or software download required
- Large PDFs (100+ pages) may take a few seconds to fully render
Step 2: Use the toolbar to add text, images, or shapes
The editor toolbar provides tools for adding and modifying content on any page. Select a tool, then click on the page where you want to place the element.
- Text tool — click anywhere to add a text box; adjust font, size, and color
- Image tool — insert a logo, photo, or signature image from your device
- Shape tool — add rectangles, circles, lines, and arrows
- Redact tool — permanently black out sensitive information
- All elements can be moved, resized, and deleted after placement
Step 3: Annotate pages with highlights, comments, and drawings
Switch to the Annotation toolbar to add review markup. Annotations are ideal for collaborative review — team members can leave comments without altering the underlying document content.
- Highlight — select text and apply a color highlight
- Sticky note — add a comment that appears as a pin on the page
- Freehand drawing — draw directly on the page with a pen tool
- Strikethrough — mark text for deletion in a review workflow
- Annotation authors and timestamps are saved automatically
Step 4: Rearrange, delete, or add pages using the page panel
Open the page panel on the left side of the editor to manage the document structure. Drag pages to reorder them, right-click to delete, or click Insert Page to add a blank page or import pages from another PDF.
- Drag and drop pages in the panel to instantly reorder them
- Select multiple pages with Shift+Click to move or delete them together
- Rotate individual pages 90° or 180° from the right-click context menu
- Split the PDF into separate files by selecting a page range and clicking Extract
Step 5: Save changes and create a new version
Click Save at any time to preserve your edits. Each save creates a new version in the project's version history. The original file is never overwritten, so you can always revert to a previous state.
- Version history shows date, time, and the author of each save
- Click any version to preview it before restoring
- Download any specific version as a PDF at any time
- Use Cmd/Ctrl+S as a keyboard shortcut to save quickly
💡 Tip: Use the version history to restore previous states of your document. If you make a mistake or need to reference an earlier draft, open the Versions panel on the right side of the editor and click Restore on any past version.
