Converting Files to PDF

StackBloom PDF Suite makes it easy to convert nearly any file format into a polished PDF. Whether you're working with Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, or images, the conversion process takes just a few clicks.

Step 1: Open PDF Suite and click New Project

1

From the StackBloom sidebar, click PDF Suite to open the dashboard. Then click New Project in the top-right corner. Projects keep your conversions organized and let you access previous PDFs at any time.

  • Projects are private by default and only visible to you
  • You can rename projects to match the client or document type
  • Each project can hold multiple file versions and conversions

Step 2: Upload your file

2

Drag and drop your file into the upload area, or click Browse Files to select it from your computer. PDF Suite supports a wide range of input formats.

  • Word — .doc, .docx
  • Excel — .xls, .xlsx
  • PowerPoint — .ppt, .pptx
  • Images — .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp, .tiff
  • Web — .html files and URLs
  • Maximum file size is 100 MB on Basic and 500 MB on higher tiers

Step 3: Select conversion settings

3

Before converting, configure the output settings to get the exact PDF you need. These settings control the quality and layout of the resulting document.

  • Quality — Standard (smaller file) or High (larger, sharper)
  • Page size — A4, Letter, Legal, or custom dimensions
  • Orientation — Portrait or Landscape
  • Margins — set custom margins in millimeters or inches
  • Image files can be combined into a single multi-page PDF

Step 4: Click Convert and wait for processing

4

Click the Convert to PDF button. A progress indicator shows the conversion status in real time. Most files complete in under 30 seconds, though large or complex documents may take a little longer.

  • You'll receive an in-app notification when the conversion finishes
  • You can start other tasks while the conversion runs in the background
  • Failed conversions show an error message with details on what went wrong

Step 5: Download or share the resulting PDF

5

Once conversion is complete, click Download PDF to save it to your device. You can also click Share to generate a secure link to share the PDF directly from StackBloom without downloading it.

  • Downloaded PDFs are in standard PDF/1.7 format, compatible with all readers
  • Shared links can be password-protected or set to expire after a date
  • Converted files are stored in your project and can be re-downloaded any time

💡 Tip: Batch convert multiple files at once using the batch upload option — just select several files at the same time in the file picker. Each file is converted separately and saved as its own PDF in your project, saving you significant time when processing many documents.
